Delete your account
How to delete your Moon account and personal data, and what happens to your artworks and wallet.
Delete in the Moon app
Open the Moon app and sign in. Go to Profile → Account settings, then tap Delete account and confirm. Your account is deleted straight away and you are signed out.
Request deletion by email
If you no longer have the app, email [privacy contact email] with the subject “Delete my account”. Send it from the email address you sign in with, or include the phone number you sign in with. We will confirm the request is yours and delete the account within 30 days.
Before you delete
Retrieve any pieces that are at a gallery or on their way to or from one, unlist pieces that are for sale, and wait for auctions you are selling in or leading to end. You can't delete your account until these are resolved.
Move any ETH out of your wallet (Wallet → Send). If Moon created your wallet, you can only reach it again by signing back into Moon.
What is deleted and what is kept
Deleted: your name, username, email address, sign-in link, profile photo, bio, address, wallet link, notifications, likes, and follows.
Kept, anonymised as “Deleted user”: records of past sales, bids, gallery custody, and ownership history, because they are part of other users' records and each artwork's history.
Not deletable: transactions on the Ethereum blockchain and files on IPFS are public and permanent. Artworks minted to your wallet stay in your wallet. If you sign up again with the same wallet, they return to your new account.
